Escrow protection
On OKA234 the seller is not paid the moment you check out. Your money is held until the order completes β and paused entirely if you raise a dispute.
What escrow means in practice
- You pay into escrow. Your payment is captured by our payment partner and held. The seller can see that the order is funded, but the money is not theirs yet.
- The seller fulfils the order. The seller is notified and ships or prepares the order against the delivery details you provided. Unapproved or blocked destinations cannot be used.
- You track it. Shipment events appear on the order in your account. You can watch progress from dispatch through to delivery.
- Confirm β or dispute. If everything is right, the order completes and escrow releases to the seller. If something is wrong, open a dispute and the release is paused.
- Release. The seller is paid into their wallet, and their withdrawal is available against completed identity verification.
What is covered
- Non-delivery. If the goods never arrive, escrow means the seller has not been paid, so a refund can be settled from the held funds rather than chased from the seller.
- Not as described. If what arrives does not match the listing, open a dispute with photos before the order completes.
- Quality disputes. Our team mediates, with both sides able to put their case in the dispute thread. Admin decisions are recorded on the case.
- Platform commission. The marketplace commission is only earned when the order completes β it is not taken from a failed order.
On-site QC inspections
For higher-value orders you can add an inspection: an independent QC agent in the seller's area physically checks the goods and submits a report with photos before the order completes. You agree the fee with the agent up front, and the report is attached to your order in your account.
- Agents have a 72-hour window to submit the report after the inspection.
- If an agent misses that deadline the inspection is cancelled and you are refunded in full.
- Cancelling an inspection yourself after an agent has been assigned applies a 20% cancellation fee, and the balance is refunded.
How you are charged
Prices are displayed in your local currency, chosen from your location and adjustable at any time from the currency selector on catalogue pages. The platform accounts internally in USD, so converted totals show the USD equivalent next to them β what you see is what the settlement uses.
Verified sellers
Sellers complete identity verification (KYC) before they can withdraw earnings, and stores can earn a verified badge once their documents are approved. Listings also require approval before they appear on the storefront, so a paid order is always against a listing the platform has accepted.
If something goes wrong
Open a dispute from the order as soon as you spot a problem β the earlier the better, because the payout is held only while the case is open. If you are not sure which route to take, the report a problem page explains what counts as a dispute, a support ticket or a rules violation.
Escrow and payment handling are provided by our regulated payment partners; OKA234 never stores your card details.
