– Collapse Time: The grid succumbed at approximately 2:42 a.m. on Monday.

– Generation Plunge: The available generation plummeted to a mere 64.70 megawatts.

– Repeat Offender: This marks the sixth instance of the national grid experiencing a collapse in 2024.

– Ibom Power and Okpai Gas: Amidst the darkness, only two power plants—Ibom Power and Okpai Gas—managed to generate 59.50 MW and 117.00 MW, respectively.

– TCN’s Struggle: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) scrambled to restore the grid. Supply gradually rose to 250 MW, with Abuja and Lagos Disco bearing the highest load of 80 MW. Ibadan Disco followed with 50 MW, and Benin Disco with 40 MW.
