The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has intensified its campaign against book piracy, arresting eight individuals accused of selling pirated books.
According to sources, the suspects were apprehended during raids conducted by the NCC in various locations across the country. The operation targeted vendors selling unauthorized copies of literary works.
The Director-General of the NCC, John Asein, condemned the prevalence of book piracy, stating that it undermines the intellectual property rights of authors and publishers. Asein emphasized the commission’s commitment to protecting creative works and ensuring that creators receive fair compensation.

The arrested individuals are expected to face charges related to copyright infringement. If convicted, they may face fines or imprisonment.
